Remembering Stephan Harding
A while ago I made a series of radio programmes called ‘Schumacher Radio’ which were broadcast by ‘Soundart Radio’ based on the Dartington Campus. Each episode was structured around the typical college day giving a flavour of life at Schumacher College. The programmes included recordings of students, staff and volunteers with poetry, readings, music and interviews, some being delivered live from the studio.
Recently I found the audio on an old hard drive.
There are two tracks of interest; both are recordings of Stephan Harding, in his prime. One is Stephan talking about how he first became involved with the College and the ethos behind it. The other is an explanation of Gaia Theory delivered in a way only Stephan could.
I first met Stephan during the first Capra course at the Schumacher College in 1992 when he showed us his ‘Daisyworld’ simulation on a primitive Macintosh computer.
