Storytelling for Impact

I’m excited to announce that our film about the chimps of Lake Tanganyika has officially launched. This is the first story shared by Keystones Expedition from our journey across Africa. In this episode, we immerse you in the world of the chimpanzees of Lake Tanganyika, introducing you to two extraordinary individuals: Mwiga and Butati. Their story not only offers a rare glimpse into the lives of these incredible primates but also highlights the broader ecosystem they call home. Through their eyes, we explore the delicate balance of this landscape and the complex, interconnected relationships that sustain it. From their unique bond to the threats faced by these endangered species, this story serves as both a hopeful reflection and a call to action for the future of chimpanzees and the ecosystems they depend on.

As a self-funded startup, Keystones Expedition was born out of a passion to create tangible, grassroots impact through storytelling. Our journey has been deeply personal, but it’s also been about immersing ourselves in the breathtaking beauty of Africa and places like Tanganyika - to inspire a deeper connection to this remarkable part of the world. Through this film, we hope to spark change by showcasing the importance of conservation, biodiversity, and the incredible work being done on the ground.

Our primary goal is to drive positive impact through conservation efforts, from supporting ranger training to enhancing biodiversity, uplifting local communities, and promoting sustainable practices across the board. The film is a small part of a larger mission, but we believe storytelling's power can ignite meaningful change.

Help us amplify our message by sharing our work! We have four films in the Africa Series and five in the Corridor Series, each designed to create meaningful impact. These episodes are self-funded, with every donation directly supporting chimpanzee conservation and habitat protection for generations to come. You can donate here to support the project and help make a lasting difference.
